Customer Spotlight – Function Enterprises
Function Enterprises was incorporated in 1983 and started by Friends David Chiles and Robert “Bob,” Gray. As Native Northern Virginians they created a company focused on quality and service for their local area. Over time, the company has turned into a family business with David’s daughter as the CFO and Bob’s son as a Lead Estimator.
Function has three different divisions inside the organization – Commercial Roofing, Roof Repair and the Roll-off Dumpster. The Dumpster Division started through an acquisition of a local dumpster company and has been very successful. Function Enterprises handles re-roofing, roof repairs, maintenance, caulking/coatings, and construction debris roll-off services.
Kristen Thompson has been with the company for 4 years after a career in Healthcare. As a close -knit team, everyone wears many hats in the company, including Kristen who acts as the Executive Assistant, Accounting Assistant and handles oversight of the office.
When Kristen came upon the scene, there were typewriters, loads of Excel documents and timesheets to handle the day to day administrative functions. Putting her organizational skills to use, she sought out a different solution. Function began utilizing the Dataforma software in June 2017.
The entire company of Function Enterprises uses Dataforma. Kristen mentioned that the two favorite Dataforma success factors for their organization include the overall invoicing (service) and the timesheets functionality, thus saving valuable hours and time on a daily basis.
We value our partnership with Function Enterprise and enjoy watching their growth from afar. They have noted that business is a bit slow right now during the global pandemic, yet they still have work for their crews and continue to hope and pray that work life returns to normal.
If anyone is looking for a reputable, privately-owned extremely experienced company in the Northern Virginia area – call on Function Enterprises.
